Privacy Policy

The short version: Playa Magic doesn't have a server, doesn't have accounts, and doesn't collect, transmit, or sell your data to anyone. Everything you save is stored only on your own device.

What information the app uses

Playa Magic uses the following information, all of which stays on your device:

Location. If you use the "Near Me" feature or set your camp location, the app accesses your device's location (or an address you type in) to show you nearby events and calculate distances. Location is only used while you're actively using the app, and is never sent anywhere — it's used entirely on your device to filter and sort events.
Saved events, crawls, and preferences. When you save an event, plan a crawl, set your camp location, or change a setting like dark mode, that information is stored locally in your browser or app storage (localStorage). It is never transmitted off your device.

What the app does not do

No account creation, login, or sign-up of any kind.
No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
No data is sent to, or shared with, any third party.
No cookies used for tracking purposes.

Network requests

The only thing the app fetches over the network is its own static event data (the list of playa events) so it can be loaded and cached for offline use. This request doesn't include any information about you.

Data storage and deletion

Everything the app saves lives in your browser's or device's local storage. You can clear it at any time by clearing the app's storage/data in your device settings, clearing your browser's site data, or uninstalling the app. There is nothing on any server to delete, because nothing ever leaves your device.

Children's privacy

Playa Magic is not directed at children, and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age — the app simply has no mechanism for that.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future feature needs to work differently), this page will be updated with a new "last updated" date above.
